Performance & Research

The Impulse Group is an international group of professional dancer/choreographers, musicians and Alexander Technique teachers who are also performers. It originated in collaborations between the London Trinity School of Music, Laban School of Dance, and Utrecht Conservatory.

Combining dance, music and the Alexander Technique in their approach, the Impulse Group works together on a project basis, combining their expertise to break down the boundaries between the different disciplines. Taking time to observe and experience each other’s work through interactive performance projects, the group works to let go of stereotypic performance behaviour, to free creativity and to reveal the vital link between movement and music.
